March 26 TASHKENT. From March 26-30, the official visit of the Estonian business delegation to Uzbekistan took place.
The main purpose of the visit was to conduct a business forum with B2B meetings, which was organized jointly with the Investment Promotion Agency of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Estonian Chamber of Commerce with the support of the Estonian Embassy to Central Asian states.
As part of the visit, the delegation headed by the Ambassador of Estonia, Toomas Tirs, met with representatives of local government departments: with the Deputy Minister of Transport of the Republic of Uzbekistan – Jasurbek Choriyev; with the deputy khokim of the city of Tashkent – Sharof Rakhmanov; with the deputy khokim of the Bukhara region – Rizo Asadov.
During the meetings, issues of cooperation in the field of transport and logistics, green technologies for the development of urbanization and the introduction of smart city technologies were discussed. At all meetings, each Estonian company had the opportunity to talk about its activities.
In addition, meetings were held with the Tashkent University of Applied Sciences and Inha University in Tashkent. The memorandum of cooperation was signed between the Tashkent University of Applied Sciences and the Estonian University of Applied Sciences.
Head of the International Cooperation Department of the Estonian University of Applied Sciences, Triin Kangur, made presentations about the University of Estonia and the system of higher education in Estonia.
The Estonian Ambassador noted the importance of expanding cooperation in the field of education between the two countries during a lecture on the digital transformation of Estonia to students at Inha University.
It should be noted that the past B2B meetings between Estonian and Uzbek companies showed a high level of interest in cooperation between the countries.
