March 30. SHYMKENT. The Estonian Ambassador to Kazakhstan, Toomas Tirs, visited the city of Shymkent for the first time and met with the Deputy Akim, Aibek Sattibaev. During the meeting, issues of expanding cooperation between countries in the southern region of Kazakhstan were discussed. The most relevant sectors for cooperation were discussed: IT, Smart City technologies, education, food processing, production of agricultural fertilizers.
A meeting was also held with the director of the Chamber of Entrepreneurs “Atameken” in the city of Shymkent – Adilzhan Datkaev. During the meeting, the possibilities of holding a business forum in Shymkent with the participation of Estonian companies were discussed. Adilzhan Datkaev told which industries would be most relevant for the southern region and noted that he was ready to give support from the Chamber of Entrepreneurs during the organization of the business forum.
