Diplomatic relations between the Republic of Estonia and the Republic of Kazakhstan were established on May 27, 1992. The Estonian Embassy in Astana has been operating since 2011. Estonia’s ambassador to Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan is Jaap Ora.
Kazakhstan’s ambassador to Estonia is Altay Kulginov, who presented his credentials to President Alar Karis on May 3, 2024.

In the spring of 2023, the Estonia-Kazakhstan parliamentary group was re-established in the Riigikogu, chaired by Vadim Belobrovtsev and comprising nine members, and the Estonia-Uzbekistan parliamentary group, chaired by Aivar Kokk and comprising eleven members.

Relations between Estonia and Kazakhstan are very good and productive, and intergovernmental cooperation has developed well.
